Seeker Town End of Year Gift - Update to Post

Parents,
Be sure to check the front desk (on Ms Kelly shelf) for your paper and pictures to start your scrapbook page.  It would be great if we could have them completed and back to me by Monday Aug 8th.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  I am still looking for Seekertown event photos to include in the book.
Thank you!

Seeker Town End of Year Gift - Update to Post

I will be leaving your paper/picture packages at the front desk at Kids r Kids because they don't fit in the cubbies as I get your color preference and/or confirmation of your acceptance of the picture I have/will e-mail you. Some of the pictures Ms. Kelly took were taken at snack time and I wanted to make sure everyone is happy with their pictures.

I am requested two colors as your 1st and 2nd choice of paper color so you will receive 2 sheets of the same color paper.  I am asking for two choices so if I run out of a certain color or we have too many sheets of the same color in a row in the book. I think this might have been written confusing on my other e-mail.

I am asking everyone to donate $5 vs. $4 because we are requiring additional sleeves for the Scrapbook because of a misrepresentation on the package.  I apologize for this.

If anyone has photos of events or group shots of Seeker town that they would like to include in the book please e-mail them to me for the additional pages.  Also, if anyone would like to volunteer to do an additional page(s) in the book that would be great!  We have several students that are gone for the summer and we will have group pages that will need to be created.  We are missing photos for Nicholas Allen and Grant Broeckelman and Blaine Davies.  If anyone has pictures of any of these children, please let me know.

If anyone would like to pick up their paper/pictures at my home this weekend, I live in the Indian Hills Subdivision right off of Indian Hills Parkway.  Please e-mail me or call me at 404-314-9166 and we can set that up.

I would like to have all the Parents' pages completed by Monday, August 8th to give me time to complete the book and wrap it.  I spoke to the teachers today and they were not sure about the end of year party since we had the spray park party.  I will keep you updated on the day they will receive their gift.

I apologize for any typos above.

Thank you for your participation!

Seeker Town End of Year Gift to Teachers

UPDATE TO POST

A large number of parents responded to the original e-mail requesting to create their own pages.  The cost drops to $4 per parents because you will be providing your own embellishments.  I will be delivering the scrapbook pages and photos as soon as I get the photos from Ms Kelly at Kids R Kids.  I will enclose the scrapbook paper in the plastic sheath from the scrapbook so please take care to return in good condition.  I have included a picture of the Scrapbooks and the paper here.  If anyone has a color preference to their pages, please let me know right away.

Seeker Town End of Year Gift to Teachers

ORIGINAL E-MAIL TO PARENTS
Seeker Town Parents,
I was asked to organize a group gift from the parents/students of Seeker town to our wonderful teachers, Ms Nicci and Ms Kayla.  Again, taking a hint from the pre-k teachers, I came up with the idea of doing a scrapbook of their Favorite Seeker class.  This is a gift that would need the full participation of the Seekers’ Class to be successful.
The supplies to put together two identical scrapbooks will be approximately $6 per child.  Ms. Kelly is working on taking 4x6 pictures of each of the Seeker town children for us (including past students - Carson & Brady, Please let me know if I am missing anyone.)
We could handle the design in two different ways: We could distribute the paper and photos and have each parent create and submit two copies of their child’s page or we could request information needed for some volunteer Parents to design and fabricate the all the pages.   We would give the gift sometime during the week of August 8 -15th, maybe during an end of year party.
Please let me know if you would like me to move forward with organizing this project.

The WAIT is finally over!  The WAIT LIST is finally over and it is official, I am a consultant for Thirty-One!  Now, I can get all my favorite bags and totes for less and I can share the deals with my friends.  They are great products that I love to use them and that is the sole reason I am consultant.  Don't expect me to pressure you into having a party - that is just not my style.  If you want to, I am here for you.  Here is a picture of my enrollment kit, along with a bunch of my own collection of Thirty-one products.

My Favorite Recipes

Papillote of Salmon and Summer Vegetables (Salmon in Parchment Paper)

4 servings

1 1/4 - 1 1/2 pounds salmon filet, skinless, cut into 8 equal slices (about 1/2 inch thick)
4 ears corn on the cob
1 pound peas in the shell, or 1 cup frozen baby peas, or 1 pound fresh snow peas
1 bunch rosemary
2 tablespoon butter, unsalted
1 lemon, juice and zest
Salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon capers
2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt (optional)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

1. For the salmon: Fold each slice of salmon back onto itself, and skewer with a sprig of rosemary. It will have the shape of a horseshoe. Season with salt and pepper (see step 4 regarding seasoning). Set aside.

2. For the vegetables: Cook the corn on the cob in boiling salted water for about 5 minutes. Chill in ice water, then cut the kernels off the cob and set aside. Shell the peas, mix with the corn, season with salt and pepper, and aside.

3. To assemble: tear off 4 sheets of aluminum foil (about 12 inches square), and lay out on the counter. Divide the corn mixture evenly and place in the center of each piece of foil. Place 1/2 tablespoon of butter on the top of the corn, and then lay the salmon slices on top. Squeeze the lemon juice evenly over the salmon, then sprinkle with the lemon zest, olive oil, and then the capers, then fold the foil over onto itself and seal the edges to form a packet.

4. Place the packets onto one or two of the baking sheets, and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until puffed. Remove from the oven and serve immediately. Pass the coarse sea salt at the table and enjoy crunchy texture this seasoning can give to the fish. Remember not to season the salmon with the salt before cooking if you are using the sea salt at the table.
